Charles Darwin

Welcome to your learning resource.

Charles Robert Darwin was an English naturalist and geologist.

He is best known for his contribution to the theory of evolution. He published his theory with compelling evidence in his 1859 book “On The Origin Of Species”.

By the 1870’s the scientific community and much of the general public had accepted the idea of evolution.

Darwin believed that species survived through a process called “natural selection”, where species that successfully adapted to meet the changing requirements of their natural habitat thrived, while those who failed to evolve and reproduce died off.

We hope you enjoy learning about him!
