The Crips: The History and Formation of one of the Deadliest American Street Gangs

The late 1960’s was the creation of exactly what would certainly be among one of the highly fierce plus ruthless African-American street organization in the history of Los Angeles, the Crips started with the production of a local street gang called the “Baby Avenues” by South Central, Los Angeles high school pupils, Raymond Washington and Stanley Tookie Williams.

The two eventually started calling their gang the “Cribs,” which is believed to have at some point involved into the present label of the South Central gang, the Crips. Raymond and Tookie claimed to have created this specific gang as a way to defend themselves against rival gangs in the neighborhood whom were committing numerous criminal offenses.
